Drive-by posting

Okay, I'm totally blaming (and crediting)
akintay - and all the rest of you beautiful people - for my LJ pretty much exploding lately. To all my new LJ friends (which, since I'm so new myself, means pretty much all of you), a quick disclaimer: I love you all; however, I will not be able to stay as caught up with all of your lovely posts as I would like, for varying reasons. I will continue to comment and interact as much as I can, because I truly want to be a part of this amazing LJ community, but if I'm ever a bit quiet, it's going to be because I'm either insanely busy or feeling overwhelmed at the moment. That being said, if you're willing to attempt building a friendship approximately 140 characters at a time, come follow me on twitter. Send me a tweet about how we know each other ("Hey, I'm so-and-so over on LJ! We both love Stargate!", for example) and I'll follow you back. Odd as it sounds, Twitter is a much more manageable platform for me? I'll still be on here as much as possible, but I'll be on Twitter more. So yeah, I'll see y'all wherever!
OKAY. Now that that's out of the way, here are the two latest things I'm pretty psyched about.
First, this community! Two of my very favorite writer friends and some of their other writer friends have created
spn_writing, and I cannot wait to see what all comes from it. I am a fledgling writer myself (you can check out my attempts so far at my AO3 if you'd like), and I'm always looking for ways to improve, and to better my whole process of telling a story. There are well-established writers, newbie writers, writer-hopefuls, and writing consumers (yay readers!) all coming together to discuss writing within the context of Supernatural/SPN RPF fanfic, and I COULD NOT BE MORE ECSTATIC for all the awesome creative possibilities! Click the banner, designed by the awesome
expectative, to check it out for yourself and maybe join us! :D

Second, as some of you may know, I recently attended MinnCon and it was SO AMAZING. I haven't had time yet to write down my experiences (and I maybe never will; life happens, ya know?), but if you'd like to get some idea of what my weekend was like, go check out
non_tiembo_mala's MinnCon post (complete with our amazing photo ops!!). She and I were practically attached at the hip, so her story very closely resembles mine.
Okay, that's all for my very elongated 'drive-by' posting, lol. I gotta go shower now - I've got my own bridal shower to attend in... a little over an hour, and it'd probably be a good idea to not be smelly and gross for it, since, though it's *called* a shower, the party will not actually play any part in helping me get clean. OMG. Okay, I'm going to stop trying to be funny now.
I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR - thank you for reading! ♥♥♥

Date: 2016-08-21 05:35 am (UTC)How can you NOT be happy when hugging such beautiful people?? I mean, really! ♥ And yeah, it was a very surreal time, watching them walk right past us and just do their own thang. I think all four of us to whom that happened have all resolved that, should we ever run into them any other time - not a con weekend when they're on "date night" -, we will absolutely not waste the opportunity to go up to them and say hello. We decided not to this time, as there were four of us, and a high chance of other fans being around too, and we didn't want to cause any sort of scene or bring extra attention to them. But yeah. Even just being that close to them "in the wild"... *happy sigh* Amazing. I'd daydreamed about it happening, but never in a million years did I consider that it actually would O.O It's a memory I treasure - by all means, treasure it with me for as long as you'd like! :)
