Firstly, toalycat for writing such a sweet, hot fic that also had a lot of really awesome visual elements to it. (Hello, glittery Zanna!Jared?? In *leather*?? Who wouldn't love the chance to work with that??) Also, for your enthusiasm towards the sneak-peaks of the art I gave you, and for the constructive input (skinny-fied Jensen = size kink win!). It seriously means a lot that you were so awesome about me making art for your fic, especially since this is essentially my first time, and I don't really have the most sophisticated art programs to work with on my computer, lol. ((hugs)) You rock. I had so much fun making this for you <3
Secondly, to my creative team - my sounding board(s), my support system, and my dear friends -gluedwithgold and non_tiembo_mala for being there for me every step of the way. As always, your advice, ideas, and support are invaluable to me and absolutely appreciated. Love you ladies :)

Okay. NOW, the moment you've all been waiting for (if you haven't read the fic yet, DO THAT FIRST) -
ARTWORK for BRING ME A DREAM, a fic byalycat - inspired by the Season 11 Supernatural episode Just My Imagination - starring teenager!Jensen and his glittery Zanna Jared!
After Jared first surprises Jensen by re-appearing after his 10-year absence, they have a little chat on the couch of Jensen's parents' living room. I'd already half finished this before alycat even accepted my claim on her fic. To say I was eager... is a bit of an understatement XP
DIVIDERS
Of course, being the over-eager SOB that I am, I couldn't just stop at that main image, so I did some divider art, too (there's, like, three breaks in the fic, so I figured, why not?).
Divider 1: ALL THE GLITTER
I really wanted to add much more glitter to everything (because in the fic, Jared's glitter is EVERYWHERE), but glitter is surprisingly tough to draw, at least for this chica. But I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out.
Divider 2: Jensen's Bracelet
Since this whole story starts with Jensen coming out to his parents, I figured a little artistic liberty was allowed in adding a rainbow to the art. And, since Zannas are imaginary friends, what better way to represent that than with a rainbow friendship bracelet? *headcannon: Jared and Jensen made the bracelets together when Jensen was younger. You just can't see Jared's because... well, because. Leather gloves were there, and I didn't want to make it a bigger thing, since there's no mention whatsoever of Jensen having a rainbow bracelet in the fic.* And, of course, GLITTER. BECAUSE GLITTER.
Divider 3: J&J Heart
This was a small part of a different design I'd created that was too busy and therefore discarded. But I thought this bit was cute, so I kept it. Again, with added glitter.
MISCELLANEOUS ART
I'm really not kidding when I said I had a lot of fun making this art. Below are a few variations for the above art. A few things are just for fun, though some were created with the intention of giving alycat options for wherever she wants to use the art. Enjoy!

Perhaps not the ideal frame, but I still thought the 'museum matte' option looked pretty classy.
And, finally...
(Can Zannas be photographed? Hell - I don't care. I just thought this was cute ^_^) Oh - one more quick note: I'm not sure where I got the idea that Jared also had green in his hair. The fic only mentioned glitter there. Guess I just got stuck on the whole "black and green" attire concept and that somehow translated to his hair as well. Hey, alycat didn't even mention it, so I'm guessing it was okay with her, so it's all good! ;)

Date: 2016-04-04 02:54 pm (UTC)Working in a digital medium makes it far, far too easy to play around and make ridiculous amounts of stuff. I feel like I made one 'art' and then just a bunch of variations from that, lol. I'm glad you don't seem to think it's too much, lol.
The size bit is all you - I'm so glad you asked me to make that change, because it was necessary, but I wouldn't have thought of it myself :) And, really, there'd be glitter all over Jared's boy, but since I was trying to depict the time right after they'd been reunited, I figured I'd hold back a little bit yet ;)

Date: 2016-04-04 05:06 pm (UTC)FYI: that is not usually what 'reference used' means, but for a first endeavor into arting it's not a bad idea to start with tracing to learn how lines in a body flow;) I think you really managed to turn that image into an original scene. Kudos for the couch and background (that art-deco lamp!). Last but not least: the lettering is very pretty too:)

Maybe if I had used traditional mediums like pencil and paper I would have done fine, but using a mouse to draw...it ain't easy. Lol. I'm glad you like my lamp, silly little detail that it is. And hooray for appropriate font choices! *phew* ;)

Date: 2016-04-12 09:15 pm (UTC)I don't think there is any shame in tracing at all (it really depends on what you're aiming for in your art), but in general it is considered a beginner's technique or "cheating";) When I don't draw freehand I usually say I used an image as a base instead of calling it a reference.
