Hello, my lovely LiveJournal friends!

I'm bored. So I... made a meme? Is that something one can just do? Well, I'm gonna give it a go. It's only seven questions long (I'll post them with my answers first and then a blank version at the end if you want to play), so if you're a bit bored too, we can entertain each other! :)

1. How long have you been on LiveJournal?
Technically I've been on LJ since my first year of college (2006) as part of one of my freshmen orientation classes, but that was a totally different journal (for which I no longer remember any login information, so it's just floating in the internet abyss somewhere). For my current journal, I've been here nearly a year now! (I joined November 2015.)

2. How did you come up with your online name(s)? Does it have any special meaning?
Again harking back to my freshman year of college, there was this one random line that sort of just popped into my head: 'Dancing adrift, the moments are filled with illogical bliss.' I don't know where it came from or what inspired it, but it felt like it pretty accurately described me and my life, so it stuck. I've been Dancing_Adrift in most online capacities ever since.

3. Why did you join LJ?
I joined very specifically so that I could participate as an artist in the 2016 [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang. I ended up participating in a couple other challenges before that one, but that was what finally motivated me to sign up.

4. What do you like about LJ? What keeps you active here?
Absolutely the fandom - the writing/arting challenges, the community, the collaboration. So, you guys :) ♥

5. Do you remember what made you add me as a friend? If so, what was it?
Well, I didn't have to add myself, so... But I'll answer this for anyone who comments below with their own answers! :)

6. Where in the world do you live? (Feel free to be as specific/unspecific as you'd like, lol. I just like seeing how far spread my online friends are :))
I live in the lovely city of Duluth, Minnesota, on the shores of the Great Lake of Lake Superior, in the USA :)

7. Tell me one random/happy/good thing about your day! :)
Who would have thought this'd be the hardest question? Lol. And I came up with it!! Um...
OH! I ordered Jared's wine from Nocking Point! Supernatural (and specifically Jared) and wine [bottles] meet? THIS WAS SPECIFICALLY CREATED JUST FOR ME, I SWEAR. There was absolutely no question that I had to have it, so I ordered the two pack. I'm so freaking excited. And I'm even looking forward to trying the wine itself XP Also, pretty cool that part of the proceeds go toward's Stephen Amell's 'F%ck Cancer' organization. All around an awesome no-brainer.

***

So yeah, that's it! If you'd like to participate in my silly little meme, you can copy/paste the blank questions (in the scroll-box below) either into the comments here, or in your own journal. I do hope to see answers from at least a few of you so we can all kill boredom together (and maybe get to know each other a little bit better :))! Hope you all are having wonderful days. ♥

P.S HUGE THANKS to [livejournal.com profile] akintay for the coding to make the neat box with the scrollable html for copy/pasting (which I see in challenge claims instructions posts all the time). Thanks for being awesome! ;)

1. How long have you been on LiveJournal?
Since January! (and yes, I had to look it up because, as usual, I couldn't remember!)
But I think I had a different account years and years ago - just like a random babbling blog thingy - no clue what the username or anything would have been.

2. How did you come up with your online name(s)? Does it have any special meaning?
gluedwithgold is a reference to the Japanese art of Kintsugi - repairing cracks and breaks in pottery with seams of gold, therefore transforming something once thought broken and useless into something more beautiful than when it started. It's a metaphor for my struggles with depression and anxiety and the past damage of abuse - I may have had cracks and breaks, but I've worked really hard to repair them in positive ways, and I'm stronger, better and more beautiful than before.

3. Why did you join LJ?
I think someone I know badgered me into it...:-p (love you, Manda!). Seriously though - for the fic challenges!

4. What do you like about it? What keeps you active here?
I like the communities, the fic challenges - and maybe it's because I don't follow too many people/comms, but I have yet to see any wank here!

5. Do you remember what made you add me as a friend? If so, what was it?
Well, because you're awesome, of course! <3
But I don't remember what made me follow you on twitter - our first contact - it might have been serendipity!

6. Where in the world do you live? (Feel free to be as specific/unspecific as you'd like, lol. I just like seeing how far spread my online friends are :))
Vermont - I am a mountain girl! whoop whoop!

7. Tell me one random/happy/good thing about your day! :)
My co-worker threatened me with a plastic fork as I was walking through the kitchen to leave for lunch.
I counter-threatened with my car key. I won. :-D (you said random!)

1. I had to look up my specific join date too, lol.
2. Have I mentioned how much I *love* that? I remember reading a blog post of yours about that once (was it on blogspot maybe?? #SoManyBlogs), and I still think it's beautiful. And an awesome metaphor ♥
3. hehehe - love you too! :-*
4. YES, NO WANK. People seem to put so much more time and thought into their interactions here; it makes for a much happier space. Also, spoilers are better hidden!!
5. Hehehe - obviously, as one of the people who 'badgered' you into joining LJ, I had to be one of your first mutuals! Hmm, twitter though... I just remember that our friendship really picked up when we started writing 'A Merry (Blushing) Christmas' as a surprise for Sammie :)
6. YOU WOULD MENTION THE MOUNTAINS. JERK.
XP
7. I did indeed say random. I enjoy random. I'm glad you won! XD lol

2. ahhh yes, that was my wordpress blog - long abandoned now, because it was just far too depressing! lol

4. I think LJ is a much slower pace than twitter or other platforms - therefore, the people slow down, which results in thinking before they speak (or type). Amazing what a few more seconds of thought can do, eh?

5. We were so freaking obsessed with getting that story written! lol - there were quite a few late nights on that one!

6. *whistles innocently*

7. I kind of thought of Dean on the plane to Scotland with his fork...hehehe

Oh, I love kintsukuroi. I've read at least two J2 fics entitled Kintsugi--not that I can find them now. Either the poster deleted their journal or I've lost the bookmark.

I wouldn't have made the connection though, your username reminds me of arts and crafts, which is cool, too.

Ooooh if you ever come across those fics I'd be super interested in reading them!

And yeah, it conjures up crafts for me too - which is cool, I do crafty things too!
(well, I did before SPN and fanfic took over my life lmao)

Hokay, I managed to find one of the fics titled "Kintsugi". It's by [livejournal.com profile] brightly_lit, from 2014, and it's here. There's a sequel, too.

I can't find the one other fic by that title that I remember, nor the gorgeous artwork that was made for it. I'll keep looking, and post it if I find it.

The code for that is < textarea>whatever you want in the box< /textarea> (without the empty space, of course).

I'm so happy you joined LJ and enjoy it! As much as I love the other platforms, there's so many things you can do here that places like twitter and AO3 aren't suited for. I really love the community here <3

YES. THANK YOU! :D I have edited the post accordingly! *squee*

I'm very happy I joined LJ too, though it does occasionally still frustrate me, lol. (Though it's never anywhere near as awful as tumblr XD)

Done!

As far as meeting/friending you specifically—Sil suggested we look each other up at Minncon, and the rest is history! 😘

1. How long have you been on LiveJournal?

Since 2008 though it never feels like it's been that long.

2. How did you come up with your online name(s)? Does it have any special meaning?

My online name is a hold over from my time writing Aerosmith fanfic. I wanted something that would tie me to the band but not be too obvious at the time and I hit on Simoriah which was a song title on one of the band's albums. In particular I latched on to a set of lyrics in it that went "long hair, blue eyes, she drives me crazy" which sort of matched my looks at the time and it's just transitioned with me to SPN fandom especially since Simoriah is easily shortened to either Sim or Simmy. *winks*

3. Why did you join LJ?

For a safe place to repost my Aerosmith fanfic for a new audience but after awhile I dropped out of that entirely and got hooked on this strange little show called Supernatural and I've never looked back since. LOL

4. What do you like about it? What keeps you active here?

I like the groups that host all the different writing challenges. Granted tumblr has tried to take on some of that but it's not quite the same as being able to go to a group and scroll through oodles of fics. Those challenges are what keep me active even when fandom is being its usual roller coaster self.

5. Do you remember what made you add me as a friend? If so, what was it?

Saw your entry in akintay's friending meme and commented when I saw we had something in common then friended because you seemed like a cool person to get to know.

6. Where in the world do you live? (Feel free to be as specific/unspecific as you'd like, lol. I just like seeing how far spread my online friends are :))

Northwest Arkansas for now at least, we just recently purchased a house back "home" in Missouri and will hopefully be moving through the holiday season.

7. Tell me one random/happy/good thing about your day! :)

I got my hair cut! LOL I know that's definitely probably something most people would be like "so?" about but for me, having not been able to make the time to go to the salon in two years, it's a relief. I make a habit of growing my hair out long, I mean like down to my waist long, so that I can donate it but this was probably one of my longest times between haircuts even since I started doing that.

Yay, another player! :D

Aerosmith fanfic, huh? Can't say I knew that even existed until just now, lol. Cool! I'm glad you stuck around long enough to get caught up in SPN fandom, too ;)

Friending memes ftw!

Totally know what you mean about the haircut! *Especially* after going so long without one!! Pretty sure I've gone two years before, too, and holy cow is that refreshing when you finally go in to have it chopped.

Oh dear, moving over the holidays! Good luck!!!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my silly questions ^_^

LOL Not surprised you didn't know, it was a rather small group that ended up chased out of existence pretty quickly. And yeah, I definitely fell head over heels for the show and our boys once I grasped that it wasn't just another pretty boy show ala Dawson's Creek and the like.

Amen to the haircut being refreshing, totally looking forward to not having to wait an hour or more for the damn mop to dry out especially with everything else going on.

I'm both excited and stressed silly over trying to get the cogs in gear for packing up and moving. I love our new house though since I essentially get my own loft apartment area, it's just a matter of packing up over a decade's worth of stuff and clutter that I'm not looking forward to. *headdesks*
