First of all, I'm pretty sure the title for this post is from 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'; seems pretty appropriate, given that spn_j2_xmas assignments are going out today. *squee!*

In a deviation from the norm, I wanted to just write a plain ol' post - not an update on my projects, not a posting of art or fic, but a simple, regular blog post. And it's going to be mainly mush?

"Why mush?" you may ask. Well, I don't really know. I'm just feeling kind of schmoopy lately. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but I love everyone in this bar, ya know? I can't really wrap my mind around just how welcoming the SPNFamily is, as a whole, and especially the LJ part of it. Yeah, I know a lot of you over on twitter, too (which is still my home-base for fandom), but LJ is just so *chill* and *accepting*, and I just wanted to let y'all know that I think you rock.

I know I teased a bit at maybe posting some wedding pics, and I'm still considering it, definitely. We'll have to see how bored I get at work, and how motivated I am to continue working on my spn_cinema instead (which I desperately need to do, but I have to find the time as well as the motivation; last night I worked on our wedding Thank You cards rather than write, so... time still well spent, but I do need to kick myself in the butt if I'm going to get that finished by my posting date).

So. Yeah. I love you guys, that's pretty much it. Thanks for accepting my friendship on here, or whatever it's called, lol. Thanks for making fandom a fun, creative, welcoming space for me. :)

I've only shared one batch of wedding photos on facebook so far (we did a pre-ceremony photo shoot); I have to work on getting some reception and ceremony pics up there too (our families are getting restless, lol), but I will do my best to get some of the 'greatest hits' posted here too. Hopefully this weekend! :)

I am happy you are here! The nonstop wank on Twitter gives me hives. There is much less drama on LJ. It's not anywhere near as active as it used to be, but I hope that improves. I still think LJ is more useful for having discussions and not having to cut out words and punctuation trying to limit it to 140 characters.

Mostly I just wanted to drop in and say hi, lol. I'm in a good mood so I'm babbling, and you're schmoopy. That works out well, hee.

Yeah - people seem to take proper time to think (more) over here. Even when it's crazy busy (like when a really popular meme crops up), it's still relatively peaceful, and I don't know that I've seen wank here yet. It's lovely. A good reprieve when twitter gets to be too much.

I'm glad you were (hopefully still are!) in a good mood; sorry about my late response! Schmoopy and good-mood-babbly does indeed seem a good combo :)

I love LJ too, and it continues to be my happy place for fandom. The time I carve out of my RL for fandom is precious, and I want it to be special and positive, and I always find that here.

And \o/ for spn_j2_xmas - I got my assignment, and I'm sooo excited to get planning and brainstorming!!!!

ahhh, I'm so excited for spn_j2_xmas too!! Except that I have SO MUCH to get done before I can work on mine, that I kind of have to table my excitement as best as I can for now, lol. My assignee (??) gave some really fun prompts and I'm just itching to get to play with them! :)

Very true, LJ is more chill. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with people on twitter; everything happens so fast over there and on LJ you just...talk, I guess? It's much more relaxed. And I'm very glad you're liking it!
