THE ORIGINAL PROMPT

This was a quickie drawing, randomly inspired and done all in one night (I'd been working on a different prompt for several weeks already). When claims day came, this was the first of my two prompts to be claimed! Thanks,

jillmariej! Basically, I love J2 and I love wine bottles (I collect them, actually), and a combination of the two sounded pretty awesome.

After a few different [very fleshed out, lol] ideas, Jill eventually settled on the office workplace, enemies to lovers, winter holiday schmoopfest story for my art to accompany. Once she had most of the fic written, I made a few changes to the original prompt to make it more Christmassy, and then turned it into the header that you see at the top of this post.

Then I made a couple dividers, and I thought that I was pretty much done.

But then, less than a week before our posting date, I got inspired again and created one more full piece for this story. I was thrilled that Jill made Dee Wallace such a prominent character, as she was on of my favorite guest stars from Season 11, and I gleefully took the opportunity to draw her with our boys.

As I tend to do, I made a few alternate versions, both which you'll find at the end of the story on AO3. I had a great time working with Jill on this story, and I'm sure I speak for both of us when I say - we hope you enjoy both the story and the art, and happy holidays to you all! ♥

Good prompt: I love it when artists put well known images in a new context and that wine background in combination with J2 makes the mind wander immediately. The addition of the santa-hat makes it even better :-D
I am also a big fan of playing with characters that are rarely seen in fandom and you did a great job with Dee Wallace. (Heehee, she is so TINY next to the boys;)

I probably should have put my reference picture (http://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/39100000/Dee-Wallace-and-J2-jared-padalecki-and-jensen-ackles-39111404-375-500.jpg) in here (seeing as how I'm such a fan of when you show your whole process); in the original (from her time on set), she was actually standing with her arms behind the boys, which made her look even tinier! (It also made all the angles kind of wonky because the picture had to be taken at such an angle that the boys would fit in the frame with her, lol.)

I love these, especially the wine bottles and the intimate feel of the first image. They're all so colourful and full of festive cheer. I love the Christmas additions and what a joy it was to see Dee - you captured her perfectly!!!

Gorgeous art. The prompt was really sweet and I loved the dividers...simple but effective! The final piece with Dee was a lovely addition. And I love the version that looks like a Polaroid snapshot! :)

Right? When we added the character tags in AO3, there wasn't one for Dee; does that mean this is the first fic to tag her?? Anyhoo, I think she's a delight (heh - "Dee"light) in the story, which I hope you enjoy! :) ♥

I want to see her again in SPN so it's a bonus she's in the story as well. It's also very genius of you and your writer to come up with the idea of this story. I love enemy-turn-lover story soooo much and I can't wait to read it.

Thanks, dear! I had *nothing* to do with the concept of the story though, lol. My author did that all on her own! Since I beta'd too, I gave feedback every now and then, but the story is aaaall her :) I made that last piece of art before she'd finished writing, and it was her [pleasant surprise to me] decision to so completely include it in the fic like she did :) Despite that technicality, yes, it was lovely to collaborate with her as we did! I hope you love the story as much as you enjoy my art when you are able to read it! ♥ Happy holidays to you too :-*

(and I love Dee too! She was one of my favorite guest stars in S11 and I was ecstatic that Jill choice her to play such a large part in this fic! :))
